Avantel Limited has secured a contract from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, for the development and testing of satellite communication terminals for GSAT. The contract is dated June 8, 2026.
The order is valued at ₹9.94 crore, inclusive of applicable taxes, and involves the design, development, and validation of satellite terminal systems to support communication requirements associated with the GSAT platform.
According to the company, the award strengthens its position in the defence and satellite communications sector and highlights its continued participation in strategic technology programmes undertaken by India’s defence research establishment.
The contract further reinforces Avantel’s growing presence in the defence and aerospace communications domain, expanding its portfolio of advanced communication solutions while supporting indigenous capabilities in secure and mission-critical satellite communication technologies.
