Banas Dairy Chairman Shankar Chaudhary is set to launch three key initiatives in North Gujarat: a Farmer Producer Company (FPC), a soil testing lab, and a bio-fertilizer plant. These projects aim to uplift agriculture in the semi-arid regions of Tharad and Lakhani.
The Banas Save Soil Farmer Producer Company (BSSFPC) and Banas Soil Testing Laboratory (BSTL) will be established in Tharad. Meanwhile, the Banas Bio-Fertilizer Research and Development Laboratory (BBRDL) will be located in Khimana, Banaskantha district, focusing on eco-friendly agricultural solutions.
In collaboration with the Isha Foundation, BSSFPC will provide farmers with training on sustainable soil management. This initiative targets improving soil health, reducing costs, and increasing crop yields for local farmers.
The BBRDL will research bio-fertilizers to replace traditional chemical ones, tailoring solutions to meet the region’s specific soil needs. The lab will ensure the FPC has access to cutting-edge bio-fertilizer technology.
These projects address challenges like poor soil quality and water scarcity, aiming to promote sustainable farming and improve agricultural productivity across the region.
