Bangalore's Tech Corridor Gears Up for Metro Boost: Sarjapur-Hebbal Line DPR Ready

Bengaluru's Namma Metro system is poised for a substantial expansion with the forthcoming completion of the detailed project report (DPR) for the Sarjapur-Hebbal line. Estimated at Rs 16,543 crore, encompassing land acquisition charges, this 37-km line is a key component of the Comprehensive Mobility Plan 2020, aiming to enhance transportation for individuals commuting to and from the tech zones.

The proposed alignment features an elevated corridor traversing the IT corridor in Sarjapur, transitioning underground at Koramangala, and resurfacing on Ballari Road with elevated stations at Ganganagar and Hebbal. This new line will seamlessly connect with the Blue, Pink, Purple, and Phase-III lines at four strategic junctures.

At Iblur, it interfaces with the Blue Line leading from Central Silk Board to Kempegowda International Airport. At Dairy Circle, the station integrates with the Pink Line, providing connectivity to destinations like Bannerghatta Road or MG Road. Close to KR Circle, it aligns with the operational Sir M Visvesvaraya station of the Purple Line. In proximity to Hebbal, it establishes connections with the Blue Line, Phase III (Kempapura to JP Nagar), and the suburban rail station (Baiyappanahalli to Chikkabanavara).

The Sarjapur-Hebbal line is slated to feature seven stations, including Basaveshwara Circle, Bengaluru Golf Course, Palace Guttahalli, Mehkri Circle, Veterinary College, Ganganagar, and Hebbal.
