BEML has secured an order worth approximately Rs 180.60 crore from Integral Coach Factory (ICF) for the manufacture and supply of sleeper-configured Vande Bharat trainsets.
The order further strengthens BEML’s role in India’s indigenous semi-high-speed rail programme and comes amid the expansion of modern passenger rail infrastructure. The sleeper-configured Vande Bharat trainsets are aimed at improving long-distance rail travel through enhanced passenger comfort, faster travel and greater operational efficiency.
The contract also underscores the growing demand for domestically manufactured advanced railway rolling stock, supporting the development of India’s indigenous rail manufacturing ecosystem.
