Pixxel, a Bengaluru-based space data company, celebrated the inauguration of its state-of-the-art spacecraft manufacturing facility in Bengaluru on January 15, 2024. Boasting an expansive 30,000 sq. ft, this facility marks a pivotal milestone for Pixxel as it endeavors to launch six satellites in the current year, with a more ambitious goal of deploying 18 additional satellites by 2025.
The cutting-edge facility is designed to handle over 20 satellites concurrently, with an impressive turnaround time of just six months, enabling Pixxel to produce up to 40 large satellites annually. Notably, the inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
Pixxel has already collaborated with ISRO and SpaceX to successfully launch three satellites—Shakuntala, D2, and Anand. Looking ahead, the company has set its sights on the upcoming launch of Firefly, a constellation comprising six high-resolution hyperspectral satellites, scheduled for June this year. Subsequently, Pixxel plans to introduce the Honeybees constellation, designed to enhance image resolution and expand the wavelength range of its satellites.
With an augmented satellite manufacturing capacity, Pixxel aims to fortify its commitment to advancing its mission of creating a comprehensive health monitor for the planet. The company's expanded capabilities are poised to cater to the critical data requirements of key industries, including agriculture, energy, forestry, and environmental monitoring, reaffirming Pixxel's position as a leader in the space data domain.
