Bharat Forge Limited has secured a ₹4,140 crore contract with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to supply 184 Advanced Towed Artillery Gun Systems (ATAGS), accounting for 60% of the ₹6,900 crore procurement program for the 155mm/52 calibre artillery system.
Signed in the presence of Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, this agreement strengthens Bharat Forge’s role in advancing India's Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) initiative. Chairman and Managing Director Baba Kalyani emphasized the deal as a significant milestone in enhancing indigenous defence capabilities.
Developed in collaboration with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), ATAGS represents a breakthrough in advanced artillery technology. This contract further cements Bharat Forge’s position as a key player in defence and aerospace manufacturing, supporting India’s push for domestic defence production.
With a global manufacturing footprint across five countries, Bharat Forge continues to expand its defence sector presence, contributing to the government’s vision of reducing import dependency and strengthening homegrown military technology.
