Bharat Forge Wins Big: ₹300Cr for Indian Army & Navy Drones

Pune-based Bharat Forge Ltd (BFL) has secured contracts worth around ₹300 crore under the Emergency Procurement–VI (EP-VI) framework for the supply of indigenous unmanned systems to the Indian Army and Navy.

The contracts cover a range of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platforms and loitering munitions, including Omega One, Omega Nine, Bayonet and Cleaver. According to the company, these systems have been developed to meet urgent operational requirements across varied terrains and mission profiles.

One of the platforms, Omega One, was showcased during the Army Day Parade in Jaipur on January 15, where it was displayed on an upgraded BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicle. Bharat Forge said the inductions reflect its focus on delivering indigenous defence solutions aligned with the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.

Commenting on the development, Amit Kalyani, Vice Chairman and Joint Managing Director of Bharat Forge, said the dual milestones of securing EP-VI contracts and displaying Omega One at the Army Day Parade reaffirm the company’s commitment to self-reliance in defence manufacturing. “We are proud to equip our Armed Forces with India-specific, electronic warfare-resistant, homegrown unmanned systems,” he said.

Bharat Forge added that its unmanned systems portfolio is evolving rapidly, with increasing integration of advanced autonomy, artificial intelligence and data-driven decision-making. These capabilities are aimed at enhancing mission endurance, precision, survivability and adaptability in complex operational environments.
