BHEL clinches mega order for Mirzapur's thermal power surge!

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has secured a major contract from Mirzapur Thermal Energy (UP) Private Limited for the development of a 2x800 MW thermal power project in Mirzapur Phase I, Uttar Pradesh. The contract, finalized on June 5, 2024, signifies a substantial boost for BHEL, underscoring its pivotal role in advancing the nation's energy infrastructure.

The agreement encompasses the provision of critical equipment, including boilers, turbines, and generators, as well as the supervision of erection and commissioning activities. The power project will employ Supercritical Technology, enhancing efficiency and reducing emissions, thereby aligning with contemporary environmental standards.

Manufacturing of the essential components will take place at BHEL’s well-established facilities, with boilers produced in Trichy and turbine generators fabricated in Haridwar. This strategic utilization of BHEL’s manufacturing capabilities highlights the company's robust infrastructure and expertise in delivering high-quality power equipment.

The total contract value surpasses INR 3500 crore, excluding GST, marking a significant financial milestone for BHEL. This deal not only strengthens BHEL's position in the power sector but also reflects its commitment to contributing to the development of India’s energy sector through cutting-edge technology and reliable solutions.
