Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has invited bids to appoint a consultant to assess the techno-commercial feasibility of green hydrogen and carbon capture projects in the Damodar Valley region, encompassing parts of West Bengal and Jharkhand.
The four-month assignment will involve multiple deliverables, beginning with the preparation of a detailed work plan, followed by a comprehensive assessment of the domestic and global green hydrogen market and ecosystem. The consultant will evaluate India’s hydrogen demand–supply dynamics and analyse current grey hydrogen consumption across key industrial sectors such as steel, fertilisers and transport.
The scope also includes technical scoping to define potential project concepts, production capacities, renewable energy requirements, water consumption, grid integration, and technology selection for electrolysers and balance-of-plant systems. In addition, stakeholder workshops will be conducted to identify key challenges and decarbonisation pathways, culminating in a final report on carbon dioxide capture and its valorisation using green hydrogen.
The deadline for bid submission is 31 January 2026.
