The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has announced the invitation of bids for the construction of the New Rayagada Division office in Odisha, a project linked to the ongoing Koraput-Singapur road doubling initiative. With an estimated cost of ₹107.3 crore, this project is a significant step in enhancing the infrastructure and operational efficiency of the division.
The scope of work includes the construction of a state-of-the-art Divisional Railway Manager’s (DRM) office building, along with staff quarters, service buildings, and other associated facilities. The development aims to provide modern, well-equipped workspaces for railway staff and create a more streamlined operational hub for the Rayagada division. The new facilities are expected to support the division's growing operational needs and contribute to the overall efficiency of the rail network in the region.
This project is a critical component of the broader Koraput-Singapur road doubling project, which aims to enhance rail connectivity and capacity in the region. By establishing a new divisional office, ECoR is not only addressing current demands but also preparing for future growth in rail traffic. The project is strategically important for the Rayagada division, which plays a key role in connecting various parts of Odisha with neighboring states.
The bidding process for this project is now open, with the last date for submission set for 24 September 2024. This timeline reflects ECoR's commitment to fast-tracking the project, ensuring that construction begins promptly and progresses without delay.
Once completed, the new Rayagada division office is expected to significantly improve administrative efficiency and operational management within the division, supporting the region's economic growth and enhancing rail services for passengers and freight alike. This investment underscores the importance of Rayagada as a key division within the East Coast Railway network.
