Big Boost for Vizhinjam: CWC to Build ₹700-Crore Logistics Hub

In a major step toward building a port-led logistics hub around Vizhinjam International Seaport, the Kerala government has sanctioned a 60-year lease of 5.03 acres of Travancore Titanium Products (TTPL) land in Thiruvananthapuram to the Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC).

The site will host CWC’s preliminary cargo and warehousing operations before expanding to a primary 20-acre development in Amaravila, where land acquisition is being fast-tracked. As part of a larger ₹2,000-crore logistics master plan, CWC has pledged approximately ₹700 crore toward creating a state-of-the-art multimodal logistics park complete with cold storage and export-focused infrastructure. The comprehensive plan also integrates Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) for container depots and Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) for ship bunkering services.
