Big Scoop: Magnum’s ₹900 Crore Bet on Maharashtra

The Magnum Ice Cream Company has announced plans to invest approximately ₹900 crore in Maharashtra through the establishment of a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Pune and a regional headquarters in Mumbai for its Middle East, Turkey and South Asia (METSA) operations.

The proposed expansion was discussed during a meeting between Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and The Magnum Ice Cream Company CEO Peter ter Kulve in Mumbai. The discussions focused on the company's growth plans in India, the development of the Pune-based GCC, and the establishment of the Mumbai headquarters to oversee regional operations across the METSA market.

The investment is expected to strengthen Maharashtra’s position as a preferred destination for multinational corporations by creating a strategic hub for business operations, technology capabilities, and innovation. The planned GCC will support the company's global functions, while the Mumbai headquarters will serve as a key centre for managing regional business activities.

The development highlights India's growing significance in The Magnum Ice Cream Company’s global growth strategy and is expected to contribute to the state's ambitions of attracting high-value investments, enhancing employment opportunities, and fostering growth in the food processing and consumer goods sectors.
