Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from IRCON International for a ₹178.64 crore contract involving comprehensive signalling and telecommunications work across multiple railway stations.
The project scope includes the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of advanced Electronic Interlocking systems at 10 new stations, including Surakachhar, Katghora Road, Bhingra, and Putuwa. Additionally, six new intermediate block signalling systems will be implemented between Bhingra–Putuwa and Dhangawan–Pendra Road to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
A new Section Control System, along with train control communication equipment, will also be commissioned for the Gevra Road–Pendra Road section. Modifications are planned for the Kusmunda Block Station yard and SECL SILO Siding yard to integrate with the upgraded signalling infrastructure.
The contract carries a timeline of 11 months, inclusive of the monsoon period, and is expected to significantly improve train handling capabilities and operational reliability in the region.
