Bihar's $408 Cr. Fintech Leap: A New GIFT for the State

Bihar is set to establish its first Fintech City near Fatuha, inspired by Gujarat’s GIFT City. The project spans 242 acres and has received approval with a ₹408.81-crore budget for land acquisition. Designed as a hub for financial services, technology companies, startups, and a logistics park, the development aims to generate substantial employment and drive statewide innovation.

Industry Minister Dilip Jaiswal said the Fintech City will bring together banks, investment institutions, insurance companies, fintech startups, and IT firms in a single integrated ecosystem. “This initiative will provide advanced infrastructure and a supportive policy environment, enabling these sectors to operate efficiently,” he noted.

The plan includes a multi-modal logistics park to support direct exports from Patna and stimulate trade, along with a dedicated technology cluster to promote research and innovation. Officials described the initiative as Bihar’s first large-scale hub for modern financial services, with the potential to significantly reshape the state’s economic and financial landscape.
