BirlaNu is set to establish a greenfield fibre cement board plant in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, marking a significant milestone in the company’s manufacturing expansion.
In the first phase, the company will invest around ₹127 crore, generating nearly 600 direct and indirect employment opportunities. The facility, equipped with advanced and sustainable production technologies, is expected to stimulate regional economic activity and strengthen the supply of high-quality building materials for both domestic and export markets. A key sustainability feature of the plant is its use of fly ash sourced from coal-based thermal power stations, supporting circular-economy practices by reducing industrial waste.
In the second phase, BirlaNu plans to scale up the site with units for PVC pipes, fittings and construction chemicals, creating an integrated manufacturing hub in the Nellore industrial region. Managing Director and CEO Akshat Seth said, “Our new fibre cement board plant in Nellore marks an important milestone in BirlaNu's expansion journey. It strengthens our manufacturing footprint and generates meaningful employment.”
