On 29 December 2025, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, while reviewing projects with the Water Resources Department (WRD), directed officials to expedite the implementation of ongoing irrigation and water development works across the state.
The review focused on major initiatives, including the Ramjal Setu Link Project, with instructions to ensure completion within the stipulated timelines. The project was highlighted as critical for strengthening water supply reliability and meeting the requirements of a large population. Officials briefed the Chief Minister on progress made on associated works, including the construction of coffer dams and drainage channels at the Ramgarh and Mahlpur barrages.
In addition to ongoing schemes, the state government is preparing to launch new water infrastructure projects valued at approximately Rs 14,600 crore. These include key water link projects across multiple regions, aimed at improving water availability, enhancing storage capacity, and strengthening water management systems throughout Rajasthan.
