The BMRCL Board is set to review a proposal to modify the Namma Metro Phase III Orange Line's double-decker flyover project. Based on feasibility studies by IISc and RITES, the continuous 37 km integrated road-and-rail plan is likely to be scaled down. Instead of a uniform double-decker system—previously estimated at Rs 9,700 crore—planners will focus on shorter elevated road stretches at critical congested junctions to optimize capital expenditure and target major traffic bottlenecks more efficiently.
