BPCL-RBML: The Power Play for India's CNG Market

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) has partnered with Reliance BP Mobility Ltd. (RBML) to strengthen city gas distribution (CGD) and boost compressed natural gas (CNG) sales across India. The collaboration, part of BPCL’s Project Aspire, supports India’s transition to a gas-based economy and promotes a sustainable energy ecosystem.

The agreement was formalized by senior executives, including Rouf Khan (BPCL) and Sanjay Pandita (RBML), with key officials from both companies present. BPCL underscored its focus on enhancing access to cleaner fuels, while RBML emphasized leveraging its high-traffic retail outlets to expand CNG reach.

This strategic alliance aligns with the Government of India’s goal to raise the share of natural gas in the energy mix from 6% to 15% by 2030, reinforcing both companies' commitment to sustainable mobility and environmental responsibility.
