Central Railway Invites Bids for Major OHE Upgrade in Maharashtra

Central Railway has announced a significant upgrade project, inviting bids for Overhead Equipment (OHE) works on the Pachora-Badnera section in Maharashtra. This project aims to replace the current single-phase, 25 kV AC OHE system with a more advanced 2x25 kV AT feeding system. Covering a total distance of 289.5 Route Kilometers (RKM) or 672 Track Kilometers (TKM), this upgrade promises to enhance the efficiency and reliability of the rail network.

Valued at Rs 139.83 crore, the contract reflects the substantial investment in improving the infrastructure. This project is expected to be completed within a 24-month period, ensuring minimal disruption to the existing services while modernizing the system. The new 2x25 kV AT system is anticipated to offer better load capacity and reduced transmission losses, significantly benefiting the rail operations.

Prospective bidders should note the submission deadline of 14 August 2024, leaving a narrow window for preparation and submission of bids. This project is a crucial step towards Central Railway's commitment to upgrading its infrastructure and providing more efficient and reliable services to passengers.

The modernization of the Pachora-Badnera section is part of a broader initiative to enhance the railway network across the region, aiming for higher operational efficiency and improved service quality. Interested contractors are encouraged to participate in this transformative project that will play a pivotal role in the region's rail infrastructure development.
