Chemfab Alkalis has successfully commissioned a state-of-the-art INEOS electrolyser, replacing its 30-year-old second-generation UHDE electrolyser and associated systems as part of a major technology upgrade.
Implemented with all required regulatory approvals, the new electrolyser is expected to significantly enhance operational efficiency and performance. From FY 2025–26 onwards, the company anticipates higher operating rates, improved reliability, and substantial power savings. Despite the upgrade, the approved production capacity remains unchanged at 180 tonnes per day. The project involved a capital investment of ₹57 crore and marks an important step in the modernisation of Chemfab Alkalis’ manufacturing facilities.
By adopting advanced electrolyser technology, the company aims to improve energy efficiency, lower operating costs, and strengthen the long-term sustainability of its operations. The commissioning underscores Chemfab Alkalis’ continued focus on technological advancement to boost productivity and operational resilience in a competitive chemical manufacturing landscape.
