CtrlS Datacenters has launched its new Rs 4,000 crore data centre in Chennai, with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin inaugurating the state-of-the-art campus at the Ambattur industrial estate. This marks the company’s fifth hyperscale data centre campus, joining those in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Noida, and Bengaluru.
The facility is expected to drive an indirect investment of Rs 50,000 crore and generate 500 direct jobs alongside 9,000 indirect employment opportunities. Dubbed Namma Datacenter, the campus will feature two interconnected buildings covering nearly one million sq. ft. and offering a total IT load capacity of 72 MW.
Chairman Sridhar Pinnapureddy stated, “It will be one of the world’s tallest datacentres.”
This new data centre is part of CtrlS’s ambitious USD two-billion investment plan, which spans four to five years and includes nearly half of the allocated funds. Since its founding in 2007, CtrlS has expanded its presence to 15 data centres across eight major markets and is targeting over 650 MW of capacity by 2030.
