JK Cement has commissioned an additional 2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of cement grinding capacity at its plants in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, taking its total grey cement capacity to 28.26 MTPA.
The company added 1 MTPA each at its Panna and Hamirpur units on January 16, increasing the capacity at both locations from 2 MTPA to 3 MTPA.
The expansion is part of JK Cement’s broader 6 MTPA capacity addition plan approved by its board in January 2024. The plan includes a brownfield expansion of 3.3 MTPA clinker capacity and 3 MTPA cement grinding capacity across the Panna, Hamirpur, and Prayagraj units, with 1 MTPA at each site. It also includes a greenfield 3 MTPA cement grinding unit in Bihar.
Following the commissioning of these new units, JK Cement’s total grey cement production capacity, including that of its subsidiary, now stands at 28.26 MTPA.
