Coromandel Doubles Down: Sulphur Plant Expansion Powers Up!

Coromandel International has expanded its sulphur fertilizer production at its Visakhapatnam facility by commissioning a second manufacturing plant, doubling its capacity.

The fully backward-integrated facility now produces 12 lakh tonnes of complex fertilizers, along with phosphoric and sulphuric acid. With this expansion, the company's sulphur fertilizer capacity has increased from 25,000 to 50,000 tonnes, ensuring a consistent supply of high-quality bentonite sulphur fertilizers for farmers.

This growth strengthens Coromandel's position in the specialty nutrients market and supports research and development for new sulphur variants suited to India's diverse agricultural needs. "Over the next 4-5 years, this plant will play a crucial role in meeting the increasing demand for bentonite sulphur fertilizers across India," said MD and CEO S Sankarasubramanian.
