The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) has released tenders for the construction of hostels at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur) in West Bengal. The project involves the development of (GF+ 8) storied buildings for two double occupancy girls' hostels (Block-3, 4) and three boys' hostels (Block-3, 4 double occupancy and Block-2 single occupancy). Additionally, it encompasses dining and kitchen areas, a sub-station building, and various essential installations such as internal water supply, sanitary and electrical systems, lifts, fire fighting equipment, central air conditioning, DG set, substation equipment, and IBMS.
The comprehensive scope also includes the installation of communication systems, external lighting, CCTV, solar photovoltaic (PV) power generation, cycle tracks, parking facilities, footpaths, stormwater drains, rainwater harvesting, horticulture, landscaping, sewerage treatment plant (STP), cycle sheds, and car parking. The contract will be executed on an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) basis, involving the operation and maintenance (O&M) of all civil, horticulture, electrical, and mechanical services for a five-year period.
With an estimated cost of Rs 507.13 crore, the project is slated for completion within 36 months. Interested parties are required to submit their bids by the due date of 18th January, 2024, to be considered for this extensive construction endeavor at IIT Kharagpur.
