Cyient Chips Away at Semiconductor Market with New Subsidiary

Cyient Ltd, a leading engineering solutions provider, has launched a fully-owned subsidiary to enhance its semiconductor business. Executive Vice-Chairman & Managing Director Krishna Bodanapu announced the move, highlighting its potential to boost Cyient's capabilities in Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) turnkey design and manufacturing.

The global semiconductor market is expected to hit a trillion dollars by 2030, with the Indian Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) projecting the industry’s growth to $100 billion in India by the same year. Cyient aims to capitalize on these opportunities with its new subsidiary, strategically positioning itself for substantial growth.

Bodanapu emphasized Cyient's existing expertise in the semiconductor sector through Cyient DET and Cyient DLM. The new subsidiary will focus on turnkey ASIC design and chip sales via a fabless model, particularly for analog mixed-signal chips. This approach is anticipated to strengthen Cyient's market presence and expand its service offerings.

Cyient boasts an extensive portfolio of over 600 IPs, covering a broad range of functions and technology nodes. This, coupled with long-standing customer relationships and global capabilities, gives the company a strategic advantage in the burgeoning semiconductor sector.

With this new subsidiary, Cyient is poised to play a significant role in the rapidly growing semiconductor market, leveraging its expertise and strategic assets to drive innovation and growth.
