Deadline Malda: WB Govt Pushes 79 Water Schemes to Completion

Following a two-day inspection in Malda, West Bengal Minister of State for Labour and Public Health Engineering Bhaskar Bhattacharya directed officials to complete 79 ongoing Public Health Engineering (PHE) drinking water projects by September, prioritizing those near 70% completion. To address technical bottlenecks, administrative delays, and substandard execution, the Minister proposed new policy measures focused on enhanced monitoring, contractor accountability, and accelerated project delivery across the state.
