A new metro station on Delhi Metro’s upcoming Golden Line will soon offer direct connectivity between Delhi Airport’s Terminal 1 (T1) and Terminal 3 (T3), announced Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, CEO of Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL).
At present, T1 and T3 are not directly connected—T3 is served by the Airport Express (Orange) Line, while T1 is linked via the Magenta Line. The new integrated metro station will be developed at Aerocity, envisioned as a major multi-modal transport hub where the Airport Express Line, the upcoming Golden Line, the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), and the Automated People Mover (APM) will all converge.
Originally planned to terminate at Aerocity, the Golden Line has now been extended to T1 following discussions between DIAL and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). The integrated Aerocity station will provide seamless connectivity between airport terminals and city transport networks.
In parallel, DIAL is also advancing plans for an ‘air train’ APM system to connect Terminals 1, 2, and 3, further enhancing intra-airport passenger movement and convenience.
