Delhi PWD Invites Bids for ₹380 Crore Court Building Construction

The Public Works Department (PWD) of Delhi has announced the invitation for bids to construct a new court building in Central Delhi. The project, estimated at ₹380.7 crore, will serve as the District Courts (Block-1 & Block-2) and will be located adjacent to the Rouse Avenue Court Complex on DDU Marg, New Delhi.

The scope of the contract includes comprehensive external development, installation of external lighting, fire fighting systems, a fire alarm with a public address (PA) system, DG sets, an electrical substation, HVAC systems, and allied works. The project aims to enhance the judicial infrastructure in the capital, providing state-of-the-art facilities for legal proceedings.

The PWD has set a 21-month timeline for the completion of the project, ensuring that the new court building will be operational by early 2026. The construction is expected to bolster the capacity of the judicial system in Delhi, addressing the increasing demand for legal infrastructure.

Interested contractors must submit their bids by September 11, 2024. The project is anticipated to attract significant interest from leading construction firms, given its scale and importance.

This initiative is part of the broader efforts by the Delhi government to modernize and expand the city’s judicial infrastructure, ensuring improved access to justice for its citizens.
