Delhi’s Infrastructure Boost: The ₹759 Crore Breakdown

The Delhi Government’s Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) has approved three major infrastructure projects aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving road connectivity across the city.

The approved projects include the Modi Mill Flyover, the Savitri Cinema Flyover, and the Mehrauli–Badarpur (MB) Road storm water drain, with a combined project cost exceeding ₹759 crore. The flyover projects are designed to enable signal-free movement and increase road capacity, helping to decongest key intersections such as Captain Gaur Marg and the Outer Ring Road. Once completed, the Modi Mill Flyover will provide smoother connectivity to areas including Greater Kailash, Chirag Delhi, and Nehru Place, while the Savitri Cinema Flyover will be widened to handle higher traffic volumes.

The storm water drain project on MB Road, estimated at ₹387.84 crore, aims to address chronic waterlogging and drainage issues, significantly improving road conditions along this crucial corridor.

PWD Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma stated that these long-pending projects have now moved decisively towards execution and will deliver substantial relief to thousands of daily commuters.
