Dibrugarh’s Field of Dreams: The ₹144 Cr Makeover

The Public Works Department (PWD), Assam has invited bids for the upgradation of the multi-disciplinary sports complex located at Khanikar in Dibrugarh.

The project aims to significantly enhance the facility by increasing the seating capacity of the main stadium from 5,000 to 35,000, positioning it as a major venue for sporting events. The development will be carried out under the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) mode, with an estimated project cost of ₹144.44 crore. The contract is scheduled for completion within 24 months.

Once completed, the project is expected to strengthen sports and recreational infrastructure in the region and further elevate Dibrugarh’s standing as an important hub for sporting events in Assam. The deadline for submission of bids is 5 January 2026.
