Digital Edge Scales Up in India with ₹10B Palava Data Center Project

Digital Edge, an APAC-focused digital infrastructure firm, is expanding its footprint in India with plans to develop a 270MW data center facility near Mumbai.

The company has acquired a roughly 30-acre land parcel within the proposed Green Integrated Data Centre Park in Palava, located approximately 45 km northeast of Mumbai. Digital Edge reportedly transacted nearly ₹10 billion with Lodha, the developer of the data center park, to secure the site. Backed by New York-based private equity firm Stonepeak, Digital Edge currently operates or has under development more than a dozen data centers across the Asia-Pacific region. This new facility aims to address India's surging demand for cloud services, artificial intelligence, and digital connectivity.

This project follows Digital Edge's 2024 launch of a 300MW data center campus in Navi Mumbai. Reinforcing its commitment to sustainability, the company also recently secured an 83MW solar power purchase agreement (PPA) with Hexa to power the initial phase of its 350MW BOM campus in Navi Mumbai.
