Dixon Technologies is gearing up to open a cutting-edge laptop manufacturing facility in Chennai, aimed at bolstering its production capabilities for leading notebook brands in India. The new plant is expected to become operational within the next eight to ten months, marking a significant milestone in the company's growth strategy.
Currently, Dixon Technologies is engaged in producing notebooks for Acer and has begun the New Product Introduction (NPI) process for Lenovo laptops. Mass production for Lenovo is anticipated to start in the third quarter of the fiscal year 2025. This move completes the initial phase of Dixon’s strategy to secure global brands as clients and tap into the burgeoning IT product market in India, valued at nearly USD 10 billion.
In addition to this expansion, Dixon Technologies is on the brink of finalizing its acquisition of Ismartu, the manufacturing unit of Transsion Holdings, pending approval from the Competition Commission of India. This acquisition is poised to enhance Dixon’s manufacturing capabilities further and strengthen its position in the competitive technology landscape.
The Chennai facility represents a strategic investment in scaling up production and meeting the increasing demand for high-quality laptops in the Indian market. This development highlights Dixon Technologies’ commitment to expanding its footprint and servicing a diverse range of global customers.
