Destino Minerals & Metals Private Limited (DMPL) is planning to embark on an ambitious venture to establish a Ferro Alloys manufacturing facility in the MIDC area of Chandrapur, Maharashtra. With an investment of around INR 16 crores, the project is set to bolster the local economy and enhance the industrial capabilities of the region. The proposed plant will have the capacity to produce 12,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) of Ferro Manganese, 10,000 TPA of Silico Manganese, and 5,000 TPA of Ferro Silicon.
The project, currently in the conceptual and planning stage, aims to complete construction and commence operations within 18 to 24 months from the start date. This timeline is crucial for meeting the growing demand for ferro alloys in domestic and international markets. Ferro alloys are critical components in the production of steel and other alloys, which are pivotal to various sectors including construction and automotive.
The establishment of the Ferro Alloys Project is expected to create approximately 175 job opportunities, which will include both permanent and temporary positions. This is a significant boost for employment in the Chandrapur region, providing economic benefits and skill development to the local community.
The strategic importance of the project extends beyond local job creation. By increasing the production of ferro alloys within the state, the initiative aims to reduce India’s dependence on imported ferro alloys, thereby strengthening the country's industrial autonomy and supporting the national economy.
Furthermore, the presence of this project in MIDC, Chandrapur, is anticipated to attract other manufacturers and industries to the region, creating a cluster effect. This will not only amplify the growth of the metal and mining sectors in Maharashtra but also enhance the overall industrial landscape of the area, fostering more economic development and innovation in related fields.
