NBCC (India) Ltd. has begun construction of a 1.2 km spiral-shaped pedestrian skybridge at Bharat Vandana Park in Dwarka, southwest Delhi. Designed as the park’s central architectural feature, the bridge will rise up to 45 metres, with an 18-metre-high walkway offering 360-degree panoramic views.
Supported by nine pylon towers resembling metallic trees, the structure includes:
Six Type A pylons with internal ramps, Two Type B pylons with lifts and ramps, A prominent 45-metre Type C pylon housing an observatory deck
The 3.5-metre-wide bridge will feature eight cable-stayed spans, creating a flowing spiral form. The top deck integrates box beams, cantilever sections, and stay cables, while the underside will be clad in reflective stainless steel, producing a “mirror ribbon” effect that visually links the pylons from below.
According to NBCC, the skybridge’s distinctive design—combining spiraling geometry with tree-like structures—is intended to establish a bold visual identity and serve as a landmark within the 200-acre DDA-developed park.
