ECoR Issues ₹112.59 Cr Tender for KAVACH System on Duvvada-Palasa Line

The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has released a tender for the implementation of KAVACH, a state-of-the-art safety system, on the Duvvada-Palasa section of the Waltair Division in Andhra Pradesh. This project aims to enhance rail safety and efficiency along this critical route.

The tender involves the testing, installation, and commissioning of KAVACH equipment, a sophisticated technology designed to prevent train collisions by providing automatic train protection. This work is part of ECoR's broader initiative to upgrade rail infrastructure with advanced safety measures across its network.

In addition to the installation of KAVACH, the contract also includes several associated works necessary to integrate the system seamlessly into the existing infrastructure. The entire project is scheduled to be completed within 24 months from the appointed date, reflecting the urgency and importance of enhancing rail safety in the region.

With an estimated cost of ₹112.59 crore, this project represents a significant investment in the safety of railway operations between Duvvada and Palasa. The KAVACH system is expected to play a crucial role in preventing accidents and ensuring smoother train operations along this busy corridor.

Interested contractors have until 05 November 2024 to submit their bids for this vital infrastructure project. The successful implementation of KAVACH on this route will mark a significant milestone in improving railway safety standards in Andhra Pradesh.
