A new Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal (GCT) has been inaugurated at Jakhapura in Jajpur district, under the Khurda Road Division of the East Coast Railway (ECoR).
Developed at a cost of ₹36.85 crore, the terminal features four handling lines and is equipped to dispatch cement while receiving clinker, slag, and gypsum. It is expected to handle around 86 rakes per month, significantly enhancing freight handling efficiency and reducing logistics costs.
The new terminal is poised to strengthen the regional industrial supply chain and boost the local economy, while also contributing to the expansion of logistics infrastructure in Eastern India, according to an official statement from ECoR.
