Engineer the Future: Steel Bridge Consultancy in the Himalayas

The Public Works Department (PWD) of Uttarakhand has announced an invitation for bids to procure consultancy services for constructing a new steel motor bridge over the Birahi Ganga river in Chamoli district's Badarinath constituency. 

The project includes critical tasks such as site selection, surveying, soil testing, and preparing design plans and drawings. A Detailed Project Report (DPR) will be created and reviewed by prestigious institutions like IIT Delhi, Kanpur, Mumbai, or Varanasi. 

The bridge will span 90 meters and accommodate an intermediate lane designated as '70R/ Class A'. It will be located at km 2, XS 1/4-7 on the Gauna–Bhanali Link road, branching from the Nijmula-Pana Motor Road in Badarinath. Bids are to be submitted by July 16, 2024, marking a significant development in the region's infrastructure efforts.
