Fly Bharati's ₹750 Crore Takeoff: Ujjain Airport Set for Major Upgrade

Fly Bharati has signed a ₹750 crore memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the development of Ujjain Airport, a move announced during the Urban Development Session at the recent Global Investors Summit (GIS). Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu emphasized that Madhya Pradesh is on track to become a key hub for civil aviation.

The session saw the signing of several major MoUs in civil aviation. Naidu highlighted Madhya Pradesh’s growing potential for aviation training institutes and aero sports and praised Chief Minister Mohan Yadav for organizing the investor summit in Bhopal, likening its scale to the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh.

The minister also shared plans to improve air connectivity, suggesting the development of airports every 100 km and helipads in space-constrained areas. In addition, five companies signed MoUs for urban air services, while Air India Express announced new international flights from Indore to Abu Dhabi and Bangkok, along with new domestic routes to Patna, Kochi, and Varanasi.

In another significant development, Frankfinn Company is set to establish five aviation academies in Madhya Pradesh, creating 6,000-7,000 job opportunities. Fly Bharati’s ₹750 crore investment will help boost the infrastructure of Ujjain Airport, enhancing connectivity and contributing to the region's economic growth.
