Four-Lane ROB: KDMC's Rs 170 Cr Traffic Solution

The Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has revised its rail overbridge (ROB) project at the Mothagaon level crossing in Dombivli, expanding the plan from a two-lane to a four-lane structure.

The upgrade aims to enhance connectivity and reduce traffic congestion, cutting travel time between Dombivli and Thane from nearly one hour to just 25 minutes. Estimated at a cost of Rs 170 crore, the project will be implemented in collaboration with the Railways. KDMC has also earmarked Rs 68 crore to compensate around 600 affected families.

The proposal has been submitted to the state government for funding approval. Once completed, the new four-lane ROB is expected to provide significant relief to daily commuters and improve overall traffic flow in the region.
