Foxconn's Indian subsidiary has allocated Rs 1,200 crore for constructing a facility on its owned land to support the operational requirements of an Apple supplier project. Additionally, Foxconn has issued invitations for bids to construct a chip assembly and testing plant in India. This initiative is facilitated by Foxconn Hon Hai Technology India Mega Development, which aims to engage external contractors for the construction of the plant on its owned land.
The contract manufacturer, Foxconn, has been rapidly expanding its presence in India. Last month, it announced a collaboration with the HCL Group, investing USD 37.2 million to establish a new facility in the country.
In November 2023, Foxconn had disclosed plans to invest over USD 1.5 billion in a construction project to address its operational requirements. This investment was executed through Hon Hai Technology India Mega Development.
