Gannon Dunkerley Secures ₹91 Crore Kolkata Clean Water Project

Gannon Dunkerley & Co. has emerged as the lowest (L1) bidder for a major pollution abatement project initiated by the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA). The company’s winning bid is valued at ₹90.95 crore.

The project falls under Phase 1 of a broader environmental infrastructure initiative in Kalyani Municipal Town and covers Ward Nos. 1, 2, 3 (partially), and 14. The scope of work includes the construction of a state-of-the-art Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), a Main Pumping Station (MPS), a Sewage Pumping Station (SPS), an integrated sewer network, and other associated infrastructure.

Once implemented, the project is expected to significantly improve wastewater management in the region—contributing to better public health, cleaner waterways, and enhanced environmental sustainability.

Gannon Dunkerley & Co.’s selection as the L1 bidder highlights its technical expertise and competitiveness in delivering complex civil and urban infrastructure projects, further strengthening its presence in the environmental engineering sector.
