Garden Reach Sails into Export Market with $54 Million Order

On June 22, Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (GRSE) sealed a significant agreement with German company Carsten Rehder Schiffsmakler and Reederei GmbH & Co KG for the construction of four multi-purpose vessels, each boasting a capacity of 7,500 DWT. Valued at $54 million, the deal includes an option for an additional four vessels in the future.

The vessels, measuring 120 meters in length and 17 meters in width, with a draft of 6.75 meters, are tailored for versatility. Featuring a single cargo hold capable of carrying bulk, general, and project cargoes, they are also equipped to transport large windmill blades on deck.

The contract was formalized between GRSE and Carsten Rehder Schiffsmakler and Reederei GmbH & Co, with Cdr Shantanu Bose, Director (Shipbuilding) of GRSE, and Carsten Thomas Rehder, Managing Director of the German firm, in attendance. Cmde PR Hari, IN (Retd), Chairman & Managing Director of GRSE, oversaw the signing, underscoring the strategic importance of the partnership.
