The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has announced plans to reconstruct two crucial roads connecting IFFCO Chowk with Old Railway Road and Old Railway Road with Basai Chowk near the Dwarka Expressway. The ₹55-crore project, which will pass through densely populated areas of Old Gurugram, is awaiting final approval from the Chief Minister.
The first phase involves rebuilding the Basai Chowk–Old Railway Road stretch at an estimated cost of ₹22 crore, along with the construction of a stormwater drain to mitigate flooding in nearly 20 residential colonies. The second phase covers the Old Railway Road–IFFCO Chowk stretch, estimated at ₹33 crore.
Once completed, the upgraded roads are expected to significantly improve connectivity between the Dwarka Expressway and the Delhi–Jaipur Highway, easing congestion for daily commuters. GMDA officials said the project will be taken up on a priority basis.
