Goa Powers Up: CWD & Digismart Bring Smart Meters to 900K Homes

CWD, a global IoT design house specializing in wireless technologies, has announced that its consortium with Digismart Network has been awarded a Letter of Award (LoA) by the Electricity Department, Government of Goa. The project involves the “Appointment of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Service Provider for Smart Prepaid Metering in India on a DBFOOT (Design, Build, Finance, Own, Operate, and Transfer) basis.”

As part of this large-scale initiative, the consortium will deploy and maintain 900,000 smart prepaid electricity meters across Goa. This project marks a significant step toward modernizing the state’s power infrastructure with advanced, IoT-enabled metering solutions.

CWD will leverage its expertise in wireless communication modules and integrated IoT systems, while Digismart Network will oversee system integration, implementation, and field deployment.

The comprehensive solution aims to improve energy efficiency, enhance service delivery, and support the region’s sustainability objectives. “This collaboration underscores CWD’s commitment to advancing IoT innovation and supporting India’s digital transformation journey,” said a company spokesperson.

The partnership highlights both companies’ strategic focus on expanding their footprint in India’s rapidly growing IoT and smart energy sectors.
