City-based warehousing leader Godrej Storage Solutions (GSS) has announced a significant investment of Rs 350-400 crore to establish a new green facility near Chennai. This strategic move will be executed in phases over the next two to three years, aiming to enhance their production capacity and sustainability initiatives.
Currently, GSS operates at 75% capacity, handling 90,000 tonnes of steel per month. The company is actively searching for land to set up this new facility, which promises to bolster their manufacturing capabilities and meet growing market demands.
GSS, a division of Godrej & Boyce, manufactures pallets and shelves at their Ambattur Industrial Estate site, which spans 27 acres. This expansion aligns with their broader growth strategy and commitment to environmental responsibility.
The company also plans to boost its export volume share from 20% to 30% by FY27. This increase in exports is expected to significantly enhance their revenue, aiming for Rs 500 crore in the same timeframe.
With this investment, GSS is poised to strengthen its market position, drive sustainable growth, and contribute to India's industrial sector's overall development.
