Greenfield Growth: Inside the ₹9,030 Cr Hasapur Highway Deal

National Highways Authority of India has floated a tender for the development of a six-lane, access-controlled greenfield highway in Maharashtra under the Ahilyanagar Bypass Package 2.

The project covers the stretch from Ahilyanagar to Hasapur and is estimated to cost Rs 9,030.38 crore. It will be executed on a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT Toll) model, with the selected concessionaire responsible for construction as well as long-term operational obligations.

The scope of work includes construction of new carriageways along with major and minor bridges, culverts, and interchanges. In addition to the greenfield highway, the contract also involves operation and maintenance of existing highway segments across NH-160, NH-61, NH-561A, NH-65, and NH-150E, improving connectivity across key locations such as Walunj, Tembhurni, Solapur, and Akkalkot.

This integrated infrastructure project aims to enhance regional mobility, reduce travel time, and improve freight efficiency across Maharashtra’s highway network. The construction period is scheduled for completion within 36 months, with the bid submission deadline set for July 8, 2026.
