GRSE Awarded ₹490 Crore Contract for GSI Coastal Research Vessels

Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) has secured a Letter of Award (LoA) from the Government of India for the design, construction, and delivery of two state-of-the-art Coastal Research Vessels for the Geological Survey of India (GSI). The contract is valued at ₹489.98 crore.

As per the agreement, GRSE will complete the construction and delivery of both vessels within 36 months from the contract signing date. These vessels are intended to enhance GSI’s capabilities in geological, oceanographic, and hydrographic surveys along India's coastal and near-shore regions.

Equipped with advanced onboard laboratories, cutting-edge navigation systems, and multi-beam echo sounders, the vessels will support deep seabed mapping and scientific exploration. This contract marks a significant milestone in GRSE’s growing portfolio of specialized vessels, underscoring its capacity to deliver innovative solutions for both strategic and scientific missions.
