GUDCL FTP Project Cultivates a Watery Future for Gujarat

The Gujarat Urban Development Company Limited (GUDCO) is leading the Water Supply Scheme Combined FTP Project in Veraval, Gujarat, to improve water availability. Cluster-7 of a comprehensive water supply plan invests 129.46 crores in this effort. Its goal is to provide Veraval people with 40 MLD of clean, drinkable water, improving water security and availability. 

The project has key parts. It comprises building a modern water treatment facility to purify raw water from feasible sources and pumping stations to distribute it efficiently over Veraval's water network. Upgrading the distribution network and building storage reservoirs ensure water delivery at peak demand. Additionally, new automation and monitoring technologies will improve the whole process, improving project efficiency. 

This project should have significant advantages. The initiative will improve Veraval people' health and lifestyle by providing clean, safe drinking water. Improved sanitation and water quality should also benefit public health by lowering waterborne illnesses. The project's secure water supply infrastructure may attract enterprises and industries, boosting the local economy. This effort promotes sustainable water management to reap long-term advantages and responsible resource use.

As on December 2023, The project is currently in the stage of being approved currently awaiting approval from the government.
