Avaada Group, a pioneering force in sustainable energy solutions, has committed a substantial investment of Rs 40,000 crore towards the advancement of 6,000 MW (six GW) hybrid wind-solar projects in Gujarat. This landmark agreement was formalized in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel during the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 in Gandhinagar.
Situated primarily in the underdeveloped wastelands of Kutch, these hybrid projects are poised to supply power to various utilities, including Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL), as well as cater to the captive needs of Avaada's innovative green hydrogen/ammonia initiatives. Notably, these initiatives are expected to significantly curb carbon emissions, with an estimated annual generation of 17.5 billion units of green electricity and a consequential reduction of approximately 16.3 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent emissions annually. This transformative endeavor is set to power nearly 12.6 million households, making a substantial contribution to India's burgeoning green energy sector.
Beyond its environmental impact, the project is anticipated to generate 1,200 direct and indirect employment opportunities. This not only fosters local and regional economic development but also fosters the creation of a robust renewable energy ecosystem.
Furthermore, Avaada Group, renowned for its involvement in solar module production and large-scale projects for green hydrogen, green methanol, and other sustainable initiatives, already has operational or progressing projects with a capacity of two GW in Gujarat. This underscores the Group's commitment to driving the transition towards cleaner and more sustainable energy solutions in the region.
