Gujarat's Solar Power Boom: Avaada Invests ₹1,600 Crore

On September 20, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Avaada Group’s 280 MW solar power project in Surendranagar, Gujarat, developed with an investment of Rs 1,500 crore, and laid the foundation stone for a new 100 MW plant, taking the total investment to Rs 1,600 crore.

Spanning 1,170 acres across Tavi and Varsani villages, the commissioned project falls under the Gujarat State Solar Policy. Avaada Group Chairman Vineet Mittal highlighted the initiative as a testament to India's accelerating clean energy push and its alignment with the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

The new projects reinforce Avaada’s commitment to renewable energy expansion, supporting Gujarat’s regional development and India’s national clean energy targets. Prime Minister Modi’s participation underscores the Centre’s strong support for private sector-led energy transition and indigenous solar capacity building.
